(More customer reviews)The Okuma Star drag reel is a solid dependable center pin reel, that's affordable. It provides smooth reeling and casting and is great for hauling in fish that could eat a small child, with plenty of line capacity and a reliable drag that doesn't jump or jam. You may not get quite the engineering as you would with more expensive reels such as shimano's, but for the price it's hard to beat. If you have $300-$500 to drop on a reel that you intend to use for surf casting and big water gamefish this may not be the reel for you, but for relatively small water (Freshwater Lakes, Rivers and Ponds) and shore fishing this is definately a good choice.
