(More customer reviews)From my experience, Shakespeare makes excellent fishing rods and reels. I have been using Shakespeare products for years and still have the first fishing pole I bought for myself (a Shakespeare) about 6-7 years ago. It is still in fine working order; although, I must admit that it has seen better days. I was looking to buy a new rod and reel recently better suited to slightly larger fish than those in the pond I used to fish out of (one more suited for lake fishing). I settled on buying a 6'6" Ugly Stik I picked up at a Walmart; however, I couldn't find a decent reel there to go with my rod (they didn't have a very good selection of Shakespeare reels at the time). I turned to Amazon and looked through numerous reels, finally deciding to stick with what I know will work and that is easily withing my budget. I chose to pick up a Shakespeare Agility. While I haven't taken this particular one (model 840) out fishing yet, I have a slightly smaller Agility (model 830) that I have owned for a couple of years now (not the previously mentioned pole). From my experience, the Shakespeare Agility is an excellent reel more than capable of handling everything it is designed to, and then a little more. It may not be the best reel out on the market, but it hasn't let me down and cannot be beat for the price (in my opinion).

Just make sure, as when buying any fishing products, you buy one that is the proper size you are looking for and is going to be capable of handling what you need it to do. If the seller doesn't give that information, you may have to look it up; however, its better than ending up with something you won't be happy with. The website for Shakespeare does an excellent job of describing their products capabilities and is fairly easy to navigate.
