(More customer reviews)Used properly, this line really performs well.If you are using a coffee grinder, make sure you dont overfill the spool and make it a point to slightly "underfill" it.I have also got into the habit of pulling the line tight with my free hand after I close my bail to avoid knots in the spool. I have found that what most people call "wind knots" start as a loop in the spool when the line goes slack after a completed cast.The only time I have had knots just appear in this line is when I overfill or completely fill the spool.

(More customer reviews)I have used Trilene for more than forty years but from time-to-time, I try other lines because of grandiose claims. I always return to Trilene (Big Game, XL or XT), it is the best line around. I am now a fan of Trilene 100% fluorocarbon.

(More customer reviews)I love this line. I generally buy 8-10 pounds and it is strong enough for any fishing I am doing. I generally bass fish in 20 ft of water.
For night fishing I use the line that shows on black light. For day fishing I use the crystal line.
I caught a 5 lb smallmouth on Dale Hollow with the 8 pound line. Last year using another line we broke off on several fish. This year I took my own gear and used the Crystal 8 lb line, and had no fear of the line breaking and that confidence was wonderful.
This line casts extemelly well. Just remeber this is one strong line. Some buy 20 pound line or higher and that is a huge mistake as the line does not cast as well and is way too powerful for normal bass fishing.
With 8-10 pound line when you get hung you are pretty much hung as the line is so strong.
I will forever use this line and not waste time trying any other line.

(More customer reviews)This is my favorite line for catfishing.I've caught plenty of big cats with it with no problems.Even after getting rolled around on the rocks, it may be frayed but it has never broken.I tried braid for a while, too many breaks from getting sliced on the rocks, came back to the Big Game mono.

(More customer reviews)I cannot lie and say this is the best fishing line out there, as I have not tried all types of fishing line and I am sure there are others that function better in certain circumstances. However, I can say that this fishing line does the job intended and does not cost a lot of money in doing so. I have done a lot of fishing with this line as well as Berkley's Big Game line and have never had a fish snap my line. Granted, I never catch huge fish, but that doesn't alter the fact that every time this line has brought it in for me. Even better, this fishing line has retrieved numerous lures and hooks from hang-ups in trees and weeds where they may have otherwise been lost. True, it doesn't work to save them every time, but it does more often than not. Just as with fishing, some of that may be my own personal skill involved and the knots tied; however, I don't believe it would be possible without a decent line on my reel as well.
For anyone in need of decent line, I would most definitely recommend Berkley's Trilene XT, or even their Big Game line for that matter. As I said before, for certain circumstances, it would be appropriate to obtain other lines as well; however, for general fishing this line does the job.
