(More customer reviews)I am so pleased with this book.Loads of information.You'll find diagrams of knots, how to tie them and why you'd use them.Many, many riggings for surf fishing, trolling, boat fishing, while anchored, off a bridge bank or jetty, etc.Detailed rigs for specific fish such as Flounder, Striped Bass, Shark and many others.
I especially like the information provided on the most ikely places to find a particular fish such as Bluefish (offshore lumps, surf jetties) as well as When, the best Water Temp, and what kind of Bait and Lures.

(More customer reviews)Tackle box is a lot bigger then I expected. Great size if you have many things to put in it. But dont count on the 136 piece tackle kit to fill it. Save yourself a few dollars and buy the Tackle box that only comes with 62 pieces. Trust me you wont be missing much.

(More customer reviews)Being left-handed, I've always liked these reels. Maybe it's how I hold the rod, but it's always felt slightly awkward trying to reach the line on reels without the little pin to hold it back. The pin also helps people, especially children, who are just learning how to cast.
The gear ratio might be a little low for people who need a super fast retrieve, but, as I mostly use diving crankbaits, it's not an issue for me.
I recommend opening these up a couple of times a year for cleaning/lubrication as they do tend to get noisy if you don't.
I gave Quantum the benefit of the doubt in my rating. Because of the need for constant lubrication and the fact that they're not as durable as, say, the Shimano reels I have, I would rate them 3 1/2 stars if I could. But that pin tips it up to a 4.
I bought a couple of these because they had the rear drag model pictured. Quantum stopped making them years ago, and I didn't really think I'd get 'em. The front drags are still nice. I just thought it'd be nice to let people know in case they were really looking for a rear drag reel.

(More customer reviews)The fishing pole I received did not look like the one in the photo advertising it.I was purchasing it for a gift for a needy family in West Virginia, so I had to get it in the mail right away.I have no idea how it will work, but I did not think it was as nice looking as the picture portrayed it to be.But I guess if it works well, that's what matters.
